With over 100 million website views per month, it is one of the 50 most popular websites on the Internet. Many software developers use Stack Overflow in their daily programming work to solve problems, learn new things or interact with other software developers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the Stack Overflow Developer Survey?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Stack Overflow Developer Survey ist eine einmal im Jahr erscheinende Studie \u00fcber verschiedene Themen Softwareentwickler betreffend. Sie gliedert sich in folgende Oberthemen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developer profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artificial intelligence <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stack Overflow<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Methodology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Developer profile<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The \"Developer Profile\" describes which school career and educational opportunities software developers use to become software developers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Auszug 2025<\/strong>: 35 % der Softwareentwickler, die dieses Jahr an der Studie teilgenommen haben, sind weniger als 10 Jahre in der Softwareentwicklung engagiert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technology<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the \"Technology\" section, the study shows the most popular programming languages, frameworks and co. of the software developers surveyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Auszug 2025<\/strong>: Die beliebtesten Technologien 2025 sind JavaScript (Programmiersprachen; 66 %), PostgreSQL (Database; 55,6 %), Docker (Cloud; 71,1 %), Node.js (Web-Frameworks; 48,7 %), Visual Studio Code (Dev IDEs; 75,9 %), GitHub (Dokumentation; 81,1 %). Hinzu kommt OpenAI GPT (LLM; 81,4 %) (neu seit 2025) als beliebtestes Large Language Model (LLM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gegen\u00fcber 2024 konnten die Technologien noch einmal an Beliebtheit gewinnen, wobei die Studie nicht mehr alle Themen gleich abfragt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Artificial Intelligence (AI)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The \"AI\" section is included in the study for the first time in 2023. It describes how AI is used in software development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Auszug 2025<\/strong>: 54,1 % der Teilnehmer nutzen KI um nach L\u00f6sungen zu suchen. Dabei vertrauen nur 3,1 % vollumf\u00e4nglich der Genauigkeit von KI-Tools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the \"Work\" section, the professional situation of developers is highlighted. What salaries do they earn? In which companies do they work? What influence do they have on the technologies used?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Auszug 2025<\/strong>: Die Anzahl der Entwickler, die hybrid arbeiten, ist gegen\u00fcber 2024 gleich geblieben. Die Anzahl der Remote-T\u00e4tigen ist hingegen nochmals um 5,6 % zur\u00fcckgegangen (2025: 32,4 %; 2024: 38 %; 2023: 41,41 %). Auch die Anzahl der \u201cVor Ort\u201d-Besch\u00e4ftigten geht um 2,1 % (2025: 17,9 %; 2024: 20 %; 2023: 16,41 %) zur\u00fcck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Erstmals werden L\u00e4nder einzeln in dieser Kategorie genannt. In Deutschland arbeiten 22,5 % der Befragten remote, 10,5 % vor Ort, 46,2 % hybrid und 20,7 % flexibel, wie sie m\u00f6chten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stack Overflow<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Abschnitt Stack Overflow gibt eine \u00dcbersicht \u00fcber die Nutzung der Befragten der genannten Plattform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Methodology<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The final section of the methodology shows how the study was planned and analyzed. Das sind 41.021 Softwareentwickler.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tech salaries at a glance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Stack Overflow Developer Survey 2025 fragt insgesamt 2.141 Stimmen aus Deutschland zum Thema Gehalt ab (gegen\u00fcber <a href=\"https:\/\/survey.stackoverflow.co\/2023\/#work-salary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024<\/a>: 1.976 Stimmen). 76,1 % davon sind in Vollzeit besch\u00e4ftigt, 10,8 % Vollzeit-Studenten und 8,6 % Freelancer. Die restlichen 4,5 % verteilen sich auf Nicht-Besch\u00e4ftigte und Ruhest\u00e4ndler und jene, die keine Angaben machen m\u00f6chten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Geh\u00e4lter f\u00fcr Softwareentwickler in Deutschland haben sich gegen\u00fcber dem Vorjahr in vielen Bereichen verbessert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Salary: Senior Executive (C-Level, VP, etc.)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Auf der Managementebene lag das Durchschnittsgehalt 2023 bei <strong>$104,421.5<\/strong>. In 2024 und 2025 wird dieses in der Studie f\u00fcr Deutschland nicht mehr behandelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Salary: Engineering Manager<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Auf der mittleren Managementebene lag das Durchschnittsgehalt 2023 bei <strong>$107,090<\/strong>. In 2024 wurde dieses in der Studie f\u00fcr Deutschland nicht mehr behandelt. In 2025 liegt das Durchschnittsgehalt f\u00fcr Engineering Manager in Deutschland bei <strong>$118,335<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Salary: Data Scientist \/ Machine Learning Specialist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00fcr Data Scientists geht es 2025 im Schnitt herauf auf <strong>$92,812<\/strong>. Ein Gewinn von <strong>+23,45 %<\/strong> gegen\u00fcber 2024 ($75,184). In 2025 liegt dieses im Schnitt bei <strong>$98,612<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Salary: DevOps Specialist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Im DevOps-Bereich geht das Durchschnittsgehalt von $75,184 (2024) auf <strong>$87,011<\/strong> (2025) herauf.
